Keith J. Moten is the principal and owner of Moten & Associates and represents clients in both Los Angeles, California and Atlanta, GA. His practice focus is business and estate planning (including mergers & acquisitions, estate and trust litigation, probate, estate planning) and entertainment With almost 15 years of experience, he understands the importance of a good lawyer and a solid estate plan, as he lost his parents when he was only 25.
To help family members in the area get through difficult times, Mr. Moten represents beneficiaries, heirs, fiduciaries, banks, executors, and trustees. He is passionate about estate planning, probate, and revocable living trust administration and litigation.
As an entrepreneur himself, he also has the unique ability to handle matters of business succession and understands what challenges start-ups, entrepreneurs and small businesses face, be it the sales of their existing business, business transactions, or business litigation.
For music and content creators in film and internet, Mr. Moten has successfully negotiated numerous deals for publishing, production, and distribution. He prides himself on honesty, and valuing artists... as artists.
Before becoming admitted to practice in California and Georgia, Mr. Moten graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with his undergraduate degree. He then attended Southwestern Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2005. Fluent in Spanish and English, he strives to represent as many clients as possible to help them set up their business, assets, and estates for the present and future.
Mr. Moten is a member of the California Association of Black Lawyers, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the John M. Langston Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as the Atlanta Bar Association. Working with a law office built on understanding, respect and courtesy, he also teaches educational seminars on several topics related to business law, entertainment law, estate planning and probate.
