Attorney Timothy J. Ritchey is a partner at Peck Ritchey, LLC, in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Ritchey assists clients throughout Cook, Dupage, Kane and Lake counties with their estate administration and estate planning needs. He has experience with all aspects of estate planning, including asset protection, family planning, guardianships, special needs trusts, trust administration, wills and more.
Mr. Ritchey regularly appears in probate court as court appointed counsel or in a guardian ad litem role and has also served as special assistant attorney general representing Illinois in matters involving health care and disability legal issues. He has been involved in many significant cases over the course of his career and in 2014 he testified before the Illinois Senate and authored legislation regarding an amendment to the Illinois Probate Act.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Ritchey has authored numerous articles on estate litigation and planning for publications, including the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division newsletter and LifeTimes. Because of his achievements, he has been named one of the ?40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch? in 2014 by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
Mr. Ritchey holds a bachelor?s degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and earned his law degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law. He is licensed to practice in all Illinois state courts and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. Ritchey is a member of several professional organizations, including the Chicago Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, the Kane County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also serves on the Chicago-Kent College of Law alumni board.
