After graduating from Louisiana State University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in general studies, Mr. McMakin returned to his alma mater and obtained his Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University's E.J. Ourso College of Business Flores MBA Program in 2013. That same year, he also obtained his Juris Doctor from the university's Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
While pursuing his legal degree, Mr. McMakin served as the Student Bar Association's executive treasurer, and he placed as a semi-finalist in the Chancellor?s Cup Senior Appellate Challenge. Moreover, he also helped raise more than 25,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation as commissioner of the university's Law Football Club.
Among his list of professional credentials, Mr. McMakin is a registered representative with Geneos Wealth Management, Inc., and he has his license in Life, Health and Accident Insurance with the Louisiana Department of Insurance. He also holds his licenses in FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses, and he is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Notary Association, and Omicron Delta Kappa Alumni along with the LSU Law Chancellor?s Club.
