At Novick & Meyers, JoAnne Meyers represents the people of Massachusetts in legal matters of wills, probate and estate administration, prenuptial agreements, power of attorney, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, mediation, collaborative divorce, homestead, high-asset/high net worth divorce, health care proxy, guardianship, divorce, college educational costs for children of divorced parents, collaborative law, child support, child custody, parenting schedules and alimony. Along with being a highly qualified legal representative and certified financial litigator, she is also a notary public and real estate broker.
Ms. Meyers is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maine, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine. As she is interested in growing and learning professionally, she is a member of the Chelmsford Business Association, the Merrimack Valley Estate Planning Council, the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council, the American Academy for Certified Financial Litigators, the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation, the Maine Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
In 1981, she earned her Bachelor of Science with a double major in finance and business management, graduating cum laude from Providence College. Ms. Meyers then attended Suffolk University Law School where she obtained a Juris Doctor in 1984. Certified by the American Academy for Certified Financial Litigators, she also received mediation training in 2009 from Divorce Mediation Training Associates and her Collaborative Law Training and Certification in 2016 from the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council.
She has appeared before the probate court, land court, district court, appellate division of the district court, Superior Court, appeals court and the Supreme Judicial Court in Massachusetts. With her background as a certified financial litigator, Ms. Meyers is highly prepared to investigate financial issues in a divorce.
