As the founder of Mortel Law, PLLC, Jennifer Mortel dedicates her practice to serving clients in the areas of estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives and transfer on death deeds.ÿ In addition, she assists clients with probate and trust administration cases.ÿÿMs. Mortelÿalso has extensive experience advocating for injured clients to recover medical costs, lost wages and disability benefits.
Ms. Mortel graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin?Eau Claire in 1999. She then went on to graduate cum laude in 2002 with her Juris Doctor from what was then known as William Mitchell College of Law. During law school, she received a Founder's scholarship and maintained Dean's List status.ÿ Ms. Mortel is licensed to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Ms. Mortel has earned an "Excellent" rating from her peers through Avvo, and she continues to represent the highest ideals in law through her professional associations and memberships. She is active with the Minnesota State Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and has served as a qualified arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.
As an advocate for education, Ms. Mortel has produced several informational videos to help her clients and potential clients navigate the legal process. She has also served as an adjunct representation professor at the William Mitchell College of Law. As an academic, Ms. Mortel has presented at the Washington County Law Library Seminars, the National Business Institute CLE and the Minnesota Association for Justice CLE. She has also presented numerous educational seminars on estate planning and probate.
