Christopher Adkins, of Adkins Law, PLLC, in Huntersville, North Carolina, practices family and estate planning law. He represents clients in Huntersville, as well as throughout the Charlotte and Lake Norman areas.
Mr. Adkins handles family law matters involving alimony, child support, custody, divorce, domestic violence, fathers? rights, marital property, name change, paternity, prenuptial agreements and same-sex family law. In his estate planning practice, he has experience with conservatorships, estate administration, guardianships, living wills, power of attorney, probate administration, trusts and wills.
While he is an experienced litigator, Mr. Adkins also uses collaborative law methods such as mediation to resolve complex family law matters using a non-adversarial approach designed to achieve the best possible result for his clients and their families. When settlement is not possible, he is ready and willing to advocate on behalf of his clients in a courtroom.
Born and raised in Charlotte, Mr. Adkins earned a bachelor?s degree in criminal justice from Appalachian State University and received his law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He also holds a master?s degree in criminal justice from Boston University and a graduate certificate in terrorism studies from the St. Andrews University.
Following law school, Mr. Adkins spent time serving as a police officer and an office in the North Carolina National Guard. He holds a license to practice law before all North Carolina state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.
