About Winifred Cannon
When I was in the third grade (in a rural elementary school in S.C.), I decided that I would draft contracts for all of my classmates even though I had never heard of the term and had no idea as to why it was so very important to get everything in writing.
I also inserted myself in a number of arguments and was able to stop fist fights by convincing my peers that there was a better way to resolve differences.
Consequently it became apparent to me that I could help others by becoming an attorney who was both a litigator and a transactional lawyer. (I'm still drafting papers!!!) The difference between my early childhood document preparation and advocacy and current practice is that my zeal and interest are coupled with knowledge and experience.
I practice from the heart and the head and will use my best efforts creatively to help my clients within the framework of the law. If I can't help a prospective client, I attempt always to refer them to another attorney. The key and my motivation in practicing law is to help others.
