Stacy Kelly has represented trustees, administrators, executors, beneficiaries and guardians in litigation concerning trusts, wills, gifts, estates and guardianships. Her practice also includes probate administration, heirship proceedings, guardianship matters, estate planning and taxation. She is a certified Attorney Ad Litem and Guardian Ad Litem for the Probate Courts. In addition, she has also handled matters involving breach of contract, suits to quiet title, DTPA, fraud, adverse possession, personal injury and appeals, including lead counsel before the United States Supreme Court in 2008. Ms. Kelly is an experienced estate litigator and has handled high profile estate contests, and she fully understands the complicated issues that surround estate litigation. With an intimate knowledge of the Texas Probate Court system, Ms. Kelly has represented parties in a broad range of litigated estate matters such as heirhsip proceedings, contested accountings, disputes over business succession, gifts, competency and undue influence concerns in probate contests, simultaneous death issues, and a spousal right of election. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas - Austin, she then attended South Texas College of Law and earned her law degree in 1998. She is licensed in Texas (1999); United States Supreme Court (2007); United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit (2006); U.S. District Court, Eastern District Texas (2001); U.S. District Court, Northern District Texas (2006); and the U.S. District Court, Southern District Texas (2001).
