He is involved in the State Bar of Michigan, serving as a Probate and Estate Planning Section Council Member, Chair of the Legislative Monitoring & Committee and sitting on the Legislation Development & Drafting Committee. He also belongs to the Ingham County Bar Association and the Greater Lansing Estate Planning Council.
After earning his master's degree from the University of Dallas, Mr. Hilker graduated with honors from Michigan State University College of Law. While attending law school, he gained practical legal experience by serving as a law clerk. After receiving his law degree, he passed the Michigan bar examination and obtained his license to practice law before all Michigan state courts.
Outside of the office, Mr. Hilker gives back to his local community through pro bono and volunteer service. He volunteers at his local church and with various Lansing and East Lansing based organizations.
