Justin Munn

Justin B. Munn is the Managing Attorney at Smakal Munn, PC. Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he divides his practice among family law matters, estate planning and administration, and general business litigation. Admitted to practice before all Oklahoma state courts, Mr. Munn is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma, the Muscogee (Creek) Nation District Court and the Cherokee Nation District Court.

Mr. Munn's family law practice largely involves the representation of clients throughout the Tulsa metropolitan area and Oklahoma who are going through a family law matter and who are thus having to deal with issues such as property division, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support. A forceful advocate for his clients when litigation is necessary, he is also a trained mediator, and this background often allows him to help his clients reach an accord on matters through a less adversarial method of resolving disputes. Mr. Munn also serves as a third-party mediator to assist other attorneys with resolution of their cases.

In addition to his matrimonial practice, Mr. Munn's family law practice includes paternity proceedings and assisting clients who are domestic violence victims as well as those seeking/defending protective orders from the court. His estate planning practice involves the preparation of wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney, and advance medical directives, amongst other necessary documents. Mr. Munn has extensive experience in guardianships and other probate court proceedings.

Mr. Munn attended Southern Methodist University as an undergraduate, where he majored in anthropology and geology and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1992. He subsequently pursued his legal education at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1998. Mr. Munn has served on the board of directors of the Tulsa County Bar Association as treasurer and currently as the vice president of the Tulsa County Bar Foundation. Mr. Munn is a board member of several other nonprofit organizations, including service as the treasurer of the Cascia Hall Alumni Association.
